I sometimes think back to how inventive they used to be back when these things were starting to become widespread. One of my co-op placements back when I was getting my degree about 20 years ago was at a software company where part of my work involved cellphones. I had access to all kinds of devices, including some of the ones shown in the video. It was quite an experience trying them all out. I liked the one that played musical notes whenever a number was pressed (I think it was a Samsung phone), had some entertainment figuring out how to play different tunes with it.
Nowadays every single phone is a boring rectangular touchscreen with an unnecessary amount of cameras on the back. Occasionally you'll get one that folds, and that's as innovative as it gets I guess. I blame crapple and their gay iphones for indirectly setting the design standard for smartphones. I miss the creative designs, and also having buttons.

Just about as fragile as all of those toys.

I saw some of the first gen folding screen phones and they weren't that great. Just give me the cheapest android phone and that'll do thanks.

Had a kid at the second hand shop on a quest to find the classic Nokia brick. Couldn't have been more than 12 years old.
