Can also use your router to block ad domains. Can be as easy as using an adblocking dns server, the rest can get a bit more complicated.

1. Install Brave
2. Uninstall Youtube
3. Make sure all youtube links go to the web browser

Almost zero ad means to youtube. Every so often after a dozen videos an ad will still get in.
