"The war ended with the defeat of Sweden, leaving Russia as the new dominant power in the Baltic region and as a new major force in European politics."
Part of the Monument of Charles XII in Stockholm, with Charles pointing towards Russia
People don't realize it today but Sweden was once a world power, the acknowledged leader of Protestantism. Even had a colony in North America. Charles had much to do with that. Like Napoleon and Hitler he at first had success against Russia's comparatively backward troops.
Charles is predictably popular today with far right Swedish nationalists. Kattie told me she read Voltaire's biography of him.
Yeah, if they fail here it'll undermine the legitimacy of the central government in Moscow. Next up: secession movements in Russia, then another Chechnya. Russia gets broken up, then becomes captive to American capitalists, both politically and in terms of business moving in and capturing its resources.
Climate change is making Russia more of a power one might add. Melting ice makes more of their resources available. Or will.
Meanwhile, Putin has his own plan to break the US up...

They will not allow any further NATO encroachment or "slow boil" takeover unlike our countries have

I think I know how this ends. Or I hope I do.
