How is Superstition and Religion not the same thing?

submitted by Panic to religion 4 hoursMay 15, 2025 11:30:32 ago (+6/-3)     (religion)

People 'believe' all sorts of things. If YOU believe something unprovable, its religion. If you don't believe something unprovable but believed to be so by others, that's superstition.

As an example, consider Buddhism, a set of beliefs and practices accepted by millions. But it's far away and misunderstood here, so it might be considered superstition. Beliefs and practices we are taught as children, that's religion.

Religion and superstition do not come to us naturally; they are taught. Same with belief and trust in government. Is belief in the need for government not also at its root a superstition, the most widely accepted superstition of them all?

Well there are a lot of answers to this but one is that superstition is usually things you fear and religion usually gives you guidelines to mold your culture which hopefully will help your particular culture survive. So from a purely practical standpoint that's one thing.

If you're focusing on whether or not things are fictional or not then the answer to that is you may experience some things in your life that don't seem to fit the physical laws and when you do you make question whether the physical laws you know actually are the complete answer to your surroundings and you may open your mind to the possibility of there being more and if you do that then you open your mind to the possibility of religious teachings being true.

Then there are two other aspects one is religion can give a person strength and hope it is very real whether or not the religion is real or not and that has a direct physical effect on physical reality for that person and others and therefore it is real in that sense.

And lastly at least all I can think of is that if you land on a desert island and all 1000 of the 1,000 inhabitants believe that the coconut tree is God and they will kill you if you don't believe it then you're going to believe in the coconut tree and the belief in the coconut tree is an absolute real belief. The moral of that story is if everybody believes a religion it becomes real as far as all practical matters go. Therefore it's very different than believing in a superstition which may be held by only a few people.

Very good! Simple and sensible approach.

Superstitions aren’t true, no matter how many people believe. Religion expresses innate truths that exist even if no one believes.

Superstition is related to ritual (i.e. throwing salt over your left shoulder). Religion can contain rituals.

Not the same thing.

Superstitions are usually about some specific thing, like the effects of throwing salt over one's shoulder. Local and immediate stuff to the superstitious persons life. Black cat! Oh shit!

Religion is more of a comprehensive worldview, with an explanation for how reality came to be, behavioral codes, and what will happen to you when your mortal coil powers down.

Beliefs are network structures in the brain that describe one's perceptions of reality.

How is Superstition and Religion not the same thing?

a) Nature implies same; each thing within implies different from one another. One cannot perceive sameness; only moving differences, which a jew tempts gentiles to ignore for suggested "likeness".

b) Religion/religio - "to bind anew" implies binding ones free will of choice to a chosen ones suggestion.

c) Superstition for gentiles implies believing or disbelieving either side (true or false) of any religious suggestion, while superstition for a jew implies super (above) stare (to stand) aka standing above gentiles.

People 'believe' all sorts of things.

To believe implies ones consent to the suggestion of another, which is how few (jew) sort many (gentiles) together, by tricking them to give "alike" consent to "different" beliefs without realizing it.

something unprovable

Proof/prove is in the pudding/putting...being implies form (life) within flow (inception towards death), so one cannot prove anything when everything moves; yet one can discern self as being put within motion.

A jew tricks gentiles to seek proves from one another's suggestions; which they hold onto as either true or false, while ignoring that nature moves all perceivable through each ones perception, and since it moves...one cannot hold onto it.

If you don't believe something unprovable but believed to be so by others, that's superstition.

For gentiles only, who fight each other within conflicts of reason like...belief vs disbelief; true vs false; yes vs no; prove vs denial etc. A superstitious jew "standing above" the submissive gentiles; controls both sides of every conflict of reason by simply not choosing to hold onto a side when utilizing talmudic reasoning aka the deliberate contradiction of both sides reasoning.

buddhism

A jew suggests the -ism (buddhism) which shapes any consenting gentile into an -ist (buddhist)...doing that tempts gentiles to ignore the implication of buddha/bheudh -"to be aware".

If one consents to a suggestion; then one corrupts ones perception, hence becoming unaware. A jew governs the minds of unaware gentiles.

Beliefs and practices we are taught as children, that's religion.

Each child consenting to suggested beliefs and practices implies religion aka response (re) to being bound (ligo). A jew utilizes suggestion to trick each gentiles free will of choice into bondage by consent.

This works so great that gentile partents are unknowingly tempting their own children into bondage, way before the jewish state institutions can effortlessly take over their consenting order followers.

Religion and superstition do not come to us naturally; they are taught.

Indeed. Nature moves through each being and cannot be held onto (perceivable inspiration); artifice is shaped among beings within nature and tempts each other to hold onto it (suggested information).

belief and trust in government

Belief and trust imply ones consent to any suggestion by another, which when given...governs ones mind (govern-ment).

Is belief in the need

Belief implies wanting to hold onto suggested; while ignoring needing to let go of perceivable. A jew suggests beliefs to tempt gentiles into a want vs not want conflicts of reason about suggested information, while ignoring the need to adapt to perceivable inspiration.

Is belief in the need for government not also at its root a superstition

Ones free will of choice to ignore need (perception) for want (suggestion) spreads the roots of mind control (govern-ment) over many onto few.

Nature sets each ones free will of choice as option (life) into necessity (inception towards death) aka one wants to live; yet needs to die. The more one resists want over need; the more resilient one becomes to temptation.

A jew inverts nature with artificial "put options", hence tempting ones choice with a chosen ones suggested options to choose from.

For example...if a jew suggests McDonalds vs Burger King, then gentiles are tempted into a want vs not want conflict, while ignoring natural hunger (need) for artificial appetite (want).

Interesting information. Need time to ponder all of this. Somehow, you indicate that the jews are behind almost everything people think, know and do. But there were times before the jewish conquest, and my statements were correct even then. And hopefully, in a future age, the jews will be done and gone. People worldwide will still have governments and religions.

There’s no proof Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus

No proof Jesus walked on water or that Jesus resurrected after 3 days

There’s no proof that Jesus ever said he’s God.

In other words Christianity is Jew lite for dumb goys.

you indicate that the jews are behind almost everything people think

How do gentiles think? In words...artificially shaped within natural sound. While a gentile holds onto a DEFINITION, he becomes a DEAF PHONETICIAN aka one deaf to phonics (sound). A jew suggests "insane person" to distract gentiles from discerning self as being in sanus (within sound) + per sonos (by sound).

The origin of jew (phonetic you) implies ones claim over self as "me; myself or I"; which brands every other one into a YOU/jew. That's how he-brew his-story to make you/jew fall for it. It's all spell-craft.

Nature doesn't form words; it moves sound through in-stru-ments aka minds structured within. A jew shapes words out of LETTERS, by tempting gentile consent into LETTING it happen.

there were times before

Before implies forwarded (inception towards death) being (life)...a jew suggests time as representing past/present/future, thereby distracting each gentiles presence with suggested before and after from perceivable NOW aka the perceivable moment(um) of ongoing motion for each temporary matter within.

the jewish conquest

Con (together) quest (to seek)...a jew suggests questions to tempt gentiles to seek answers together. It's one consent to a suggestion which shapes gentiles into the jewish con-quest.

A question tempts towards suggested outcome, while ignoring that nature supplies perceivable origin. One can only wield choice within balance...natural balance implies action; each beings choice implies reaction.

People worldwide will still have governments and religions.

a) A jew aka a "chosen one" implies the natural inversion of "ones choice". If one shirks response-ability (choice) onto another, then one selects a chosen one over self. The French word for selection/choice...élite. As long as many ignore ones choice; so long will there be a few chosen ones. That's how nature handles mass ignorance...with a bit of insolence.

b) A jew suggests pluralism (people) to distract each gentile from singularity (person aka per sonos; by sound), and thereby to collectivize many together under rule by few aka a commonwealth (gentiles) under a sovereign (jew).

c) Any government and religion is based on contract law aka ones choice consenting to a chosen ones suggestion aka slave selecting master. Others can only govern ones mind if one lets their suggested information in, and others can only bind (ligo) if one responds (re).

Nature simply moves perceivable inspiration (within spirit of action) through each beings mind...it's each beings free will of choice to ignore that for suggested information (formed within action). Notice that spirit/spiro - "to breathe" implies nature forcing each being to inhale and exhale, hence passing through. So as nature teaches each being to learn about the need to let go; every other being tempts one to want to hold onto.

That's the struggle of self sustenance...needing to resist wanted temptation.

Your question might be better if you asked; how is superstition and faith not the same thing. (they are)
