South Africa’s government has implemented policies like land expropriation without compensation and affirmative action (BEE), which disproportionately target White South Africans. Despite this systemic discrimination, the government doesn’t want White people to leave because they still contribute significantly to the economy, tax base, and skilled labor force. White South Africans, though only ~7% of the population, remain crucial in sectors like agriculture, engineering, and finance.
The ANC-led government engages in rhetoric and policies that scapegoat Whites for historical injustices while simultaneously relying on their productivity. If Whites left en masse, South Africa’s economy would collapse, similar to Zimbabwe post-land reforms. The hypocrisy lies in vilifying Whites while depending on them to maintain what remains of the country’s infrastructure and economic stability.
Additionally, international optics matter—mass White emigration would expose the ANC’s failures and the consequences of their racial policies, undermining their victimhood narrative on the global stage.
