Need to reorganize the vineyard (my two grape vines) to make a nice sitting area for my daughters, with a little bench (maybe bench swing) so the vines will grow over a pergola and give shade and fruit. They love picking the grapes and making juice.

You must be pretty far north. We're in Minneapolis, but the weather has turned towards the summer temps. Just need some rain now ...

That will be nice. Get some honey to ferment with those grapes and make a pyment mead.

When my children were young I made a strawberry patch out of an old tractor tire. One of the BIG back tires. I filled the middle with dirt and planted a bunch of strawberries in it. The children could set on the side of the tire and eat strawberries right off the plants. They loved it. I now have seven blueberry bushes. They are already loaded with little blueberries.
You are making memories, my friend. Keep up the good work.

I always tell my kids, my goal is for them to have a happy childhood.

I've heard it isn't great to use tires as growing containers for food b/c they break down into the soil and are taken up by the plant. I don't know if this is actually true. We enjoy burying the tires halfway so the kids can jump and climb on them and they won't hold water for mosquitoes.

Do you have any tips for blueberries? I have not had much luck b/c I think it doesn't get cold enough here in the winter for the varieties I have tried. We have very few days below zero nowadays. A real bummer b/c I love blueberries and they are quite expensive to purchase.
