Also just pulled the trigger on a 50 lb weighted vest. Made sure the weights were as up high as possible so the vest didn't restrict lower body movement ie digging into the legs during a squat, that the weights were bars instead of bags to reduce the size, and also managed to find one that was zipper based to increase on off speed etc.
Was trying to get together an at home routine that is less than 60 seconds to jump in and out of so I can do it at any moment. So I think I'll just end up with a 55 lb adjustable dumbbell set, 50 lb vest and some rotating push up bars. Main routine will be ground to ceiling dumbbell lifts with a squat with the vest. Then interweaving interval sets will either be dead lifts, dumbbell rows, or push ups with the vest. All done as 1 minute intervals with no rest.
I was surprised I could only do 20 push ups.. I guess I'll have to count how many reps I'll get in for 1 minute during the other movements but about 30~ reps to failure is what I wanted the resistance level to be at. So that's unfortunate I don't have space for a bench so I could do dumbbell bench presses instead!
So I do sets like 15, 12, 10 (or 12,10,8 depending on mood) w/ 90s breaks Just some pattern I learned as a kid. idk but I like it. When I fall behind on pushups for (a long time) I cant do 20 and that shit bothers me. So for a few days, I do 15, 90s rest, 12, 90s rest, 10 ... that's 37 so do 3 more. That usually gets me back on track by day 2.
I have trouble doing many in a row, so I treat them like sets and I get a lot more done in a day. I could probably do 100 that way, something I've never done.

Nice, bro.
I bought a pull up cage last year and it has served me very well. Only takes a minute to walk over and knock out some pull ups. The results speak for themselves - right through the shirt.
With just the dumbbells my heart rate is about beating out of my chest with just 2 minutes. If I do the whole routine for just 8-10 minutes I sit down drenched in sweat afterwards. Just a few years ago when I only did 3x10 reps style workouts with breaks I basically never, ever even worked up a heart rate. The concept of sweating was basically non existent.
Now when I go to a normal gym I basically grimace at the idea of doing normal gym routines lol. "Waste of time" (although if I had them at home to quickly jump in on in an interval work out I'd love them)
I'm loving this routine! And the ab interval routine I've got... down facing floor workouts (ab roller / plank) interweaving with up facing ab workouts (leg up, v hold, bicycle etc), I can't even lean up out of bed the next day lol. (1 minute each interweaving no break for about 8-10 minutes)
How much is the dumbbell you lift for like curls and hammer curls etc? I am using a 20lb right now, but hitting it everyday. They only make me sweat if its hot, I think I should be lifting more.

it has two level 4 plates and a bunch of kevlar
i should try jogging with it
my brother jogged with a weighted vest in san jose and someone called the cops on him
and im thinking.... its not illegal to have or wear a bulletproof vest
but I don't know if its a good idea to jog with it
anyway you should get a dumbell like you're thinking and do this:
