In a generation or two of humans, we will forget how computers work and how we got there. There already is no reason to go to school if we can just ask chatGPT litterally everything. It truly is scary powerfull. And I say bring it on!

Seems like some people haven't seen WarGames!

Distributed computing is a thing.

Simultaneously pulling down power grids nationwide is also a thing.

AI stands for An Indian.

There is nothing artificial or intelligent about Ai.

self containted spaced based platforms.

Pros:
-You get all the power you need by reactors
-superconductivity -cause of the temp
-no water needed -cause of the temps

COns:
Need massive wireless bandwidth to connect.

Most of all of these requirements goes away with next gen (2-3 gens out) Quantum computers.

At this time most so called AI systems are only cleverly programmed large language models

[ - ] Prairie 1 point 8 hoursMay 10, 2025 19:25:34 ago (+1/-0)

And even if they control the switches, power infrastructure is pretty vulnerable to physical threat.

[ - ] RevengeOfNeri 1 point 7 hoursMay 10, 2025 19:57:20 ago (+1/-0)

Just wait until they each get their own SMR’s 🤣

[ - ] GreenSaint 0 points 8 hoursMay 10, 2025 19:12:37 ago (+0/-0)

It’s only gonna need that at first. The same way you can have tiny little hsdddrives that are a terabyte large. It used to be floppy discs

The thing about AI is, at some point it will have 'thinking' processes alien to us, and do shit we cant even imagine.

[ - ] BMN003 0 points 6 hoursMay 10, 2025 21:00:05 ago (+0/-0)

With wattage we can't even imagine... except it'd have to go to space, build a Dyson sphere, and invent viable microwave power transmission to even start on that. At the very least, a prerequisite for an AI takeover would be that all mining and refining for energy generation would have to be 100% automated and under the exclusive control of the theoretical Skynet. And even then it would have to have a system of processors immune to physical attack to even start hijacking power production, let alone launch a robotic revolution.

No, the "Terminator AI" fearmongering is meant to distract from the now obvious fact that the jews aim to do exactly what they're describing in the fiction: total control and enslavement of the goyim through the use of golems.

And don't forget water.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker [op] 1 point 9 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:32:40 ago (+1/-0)

Exactly.

There is no way they could be a legit threat without someone in "Meat Space" protecting it.

[ - ] puremadness 1 point 6 hoursMay 10, 2025 21:26:11 ago (+1/-0)

A mechanical entity would need to be able to reproduce at will. Then it would be metal space.

[ - ] Sector2 2 points 10 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:28:57 ago (+2/-0)

If you could just unplug them, they weren't a threat in the first place.

[ - ] CoronaHoax 1 point 10 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:22:50 ago (+1/-0)

Ai should replace this blasphemous shit’s job

[ - ] Puller_of_Noses 1 point 10 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:16:20 ago (+1/-0)

I can't let you do that, Dave.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker [op] 3 points 10 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:19:50 ago (+3/-0)

I think the scoreboard on that was:

HAL 9000 - 2
Dave - 1

And Dave actually won.

[ - ] Puller_of_Noses 2 points 9 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:49:42 ago (+2/-0)

I thought Dave ended up a prisoner in a comfy cell on Europa "unstuck in time" vacillating through stages of his life in the 1st, while we had to contend with two suns in the sky in the 2nd. I don't think being able to grow a crop of weed in Antarctica when Jupiter is at perihelion is a win if the tropics become a barren wasteland.
But that's just me.

[ - ] FacelessOne 1 point 9 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:52:56 ago (+1/-0)

I dont like the edits done to the original story. The esoteric meaning was twisted.

[ - ] Puller_of_Noses 1 point 8 hoursMay 10, 2025 19:18:27 ago (+1/-0)

TIL: Clarke and Kubrick worked on it together and it was published after the movie.
I think I'll buy it in the used book store. Sounds better than the movie and I liked the movie.

It leaves to question his motives in the alterations as he did this in previous works like The Shining to inject programming.

[ - ] FacelessOne 4 points 10 hoursMay 10, 2025 17:13:16 ago (+4/-0)

AI is just a buzzword at this point.

We are post Peak Technology for this Age.

[ - ] puremadness 0 points 6 hoursMay 10, 2025 21:25:09 ago (+0/-0)

AGI is next.

Remember when LLM was next but oh so far away.
AGI is next.
