I hate getting up early. I despise it and would sleep in every day if I could.

But when I do get up early, I get outside with the dog, the air and new sun feels amazing.

I walk the dog so I guess that counts.

I dont do it on purpose but when I have nothing to do I am finding myself seeking sunlight.
feels healthy, turns out it was the people outside that I didn't like. Suns pretty groovy.

My home office is in the basement and even though I'm up by 5am I can not consistently make time to get some sunlight every day. It makes a huge difference in my attitude though so instead I've settled on a Red Light Therapy (RLT) device that I sit under for 20 minutes in the morning, earlier is better. I find it even more effective than natural sunlight.

It generates red light of 660 & 850mn frequency. I have no idea if other frequencies would be as/more/less effective. I don't look right into the bulb but I arrange it so that it's just in the periphery of my vision.

$60 on Amazon. Best money I've ever spent.

FWIW I'm found RLT useless for aches and pains, which along with skin health is what it's usually suggested for.

The light therapy that is specifically recommended for SAD generates frequencies that are on the blue end of the visable spectrum. These do nothing for me or for several other people I know who have tried them.
