This is not a sundial. It's an astrolabe, which is used at night to determine the positions of the stars relative tot he horizon.
And, for the record, to read a sundial you place it in direct sunlight and point it north. The shadow points to the time just like the hands on a clock. It takes zero skill to read a sundial, it reads just like a clock, faggot
