I watch a lot of these types of vids... I can't count, how many times I've seen the reloads go bad or the pistols jam, in these type of gun fights...


All actions done seemly correct, yet they go sideways more times then you would think...


Edit: I'm also constantly gobsmacked on how many rounds it takes to stop a human.

Limp wrist. Adrenaline spikes and hands go numb, then a weak grip jams the gun. These dudes need to train harder.

Correct. "My gun always jams." ... no, you've got a limp wrist.

But easier to not mess up when not under stress ... hence the need for more training. Unfortunately, most departments don't have the budget for training ... so unless a cop has personal interest to get better ... it won't happen. On average, police departments do a REALLY poor job of gun training.

Unfortunately, that's far from the truth. On both counts.

Training is expensive. First thing that gets cut in the budget is bullets, range time, and paid time at the range. SWAT guys do much better, but still not enough.

So, unless the cop is also a "gun guy" who has personal interest in it and wants to do it on his own time ... the training is a joke and this shows in all the police stats. Most departments report <30% hit rates. So >70% of bullets fired by police are not hitting their intended targets.

Its cool to hate on cops but nobody here can name a class or occupation more versed. Even soldiers I trust only with an AR or rifle, but cops, hands down, will smoke any random perp at the range with a handgun. And 5x that when it comes to firing under pressure.

This guy actually did pretty fuckin good. I think the criticism is more aimed at the unfortunate aspect of the semi auto. A revolver wont jamb, for example, but becomes a throwing weapon after 6 shots.

It's complicated.

Yeah - it's shot in leg vs being dead, apparently.

I need to go spend some more time in the range.

Exciting how he was reloading right when that guy burst out, and then he smoked him. Like a john wick scene.

This also tells the story of why 3 mags isnt enough.

Blood pressure is one hell of a drug. It takes a while to lose enough pressure to pass out.

That's why proper shot placement (central nervous system) ends gunfights far faster than just random hits to center body ass. And the more powerful the caliber the less important shot placement becomes.

That and it's safe to assume that 70% of the bullets fired (based on typical police department averages) didn't strike the target. Hitting the wall, cars behind, or other people, etc.

Brain, spinal cord and retina.

Body mass is just the torso, very little of which contains the spinal cord. Even shooting someone in the heart is not an instant death.

Cop was doing weird shit. He seemed calm but he for some reason reloaded after 8 rounds, he didn't put the mag in properly, then he charged it when it was already loaded. Then had to load a 3rd mag. He also swapped his gun to weak side. Lots of things wrong he got so lucky.

I love it when our bloodthirsty pigs get a fresh kill. My favorite part was when he cleared the jam and unloaded into the fucker after he was down and dying. I would have done the same to a Non-white who shot me.

Could simply be he didn't clean his gun after he shot it last at the range a week or two prior.
