Without selective scrutiny and critical assessment, ANY ethics and morality is an acceptable choice, irregardless of how inane it may be. Whose ethics? Whose morals? Biblical? Kantian? Buddhist? Humanist? Confucianist?

McDonalds and TV dinners are an acceptable choice for those too stupid to learn how to cook (or too lazy). Same as prepackaged morals & ethics is so convenient for those too stupid or too lazy to decide their own values/beliefs. Sheeple do need shepherds I guess!

I originally wanted to write "moral subjectivists", but it sounded too fancy so i replaced it with "atheists". Since most of them hold this opinion anyway. Otherwise, i don't think it's God who decides moral values although He's the one to judge you by them so all's well.

No that's not the point - the point is claims of the divine provide an authoritative definition of what is good and bad.

If you reject that some things are definitively good and others bad, it means you have no basis to reject anything. And that might as well be hell.
