I bought Land-O-Lakes butter a few days ago!

submitted by anon to AnonWhatever 1 monthApr 25, 2025 19:26:22 ago (+4/-0)     (AnonWhatever)

It tasted like ASS! I returned it to the grocery store, and bought the more expensive "Amish" Butter! It also tasted like ass! As a matter of fact it had the same chemical taste that the L-O-L butter had! My question is, what do I buy that isn't pozzed?

Cream and shake it in a jar. Salt to taste.

If you like what you taste then get an electric butter churner for bulk results.

It will taste the same depending on where you got your cream.

Thanks! I've seen some U2be videos about that and have given it some thought. Just haven't gone through with it.

Kerrygold is the best thing you're going to find at a major grocery chain.

I bought some buffalo milk butter from a pajeet market and good lord man...

Trader Joe butter tastes okay, and cheapest around here.

Try scraping the plaque off of your tongue.

Land-O-Lakes butter was only worth buying for the cute Indian chick on the packaging. I miss Her so much Bros...

Why anon to discuss butter? Is it too close to home?

As far as butter goes, the Kerry Gold Irish butter has become widely available so I always get that one. The cheap stuff like a land of Lakes always tastes like the refrigeration unit it was stored in.

I bought a big container of beef tallow which doesn’t have that nasty burnt butter taste when you cook with it. I also found out I cannot lose weight when I eat dairy so I omitted it entirely. Now I’m dropping weight frying up my eggs and steaks in tallow or bacon grease. I suspect some people are intolerant to dairy.

Where did you find the tallow? I've been looking for it everywhere!

I hate to confess to having purchased something on Amazon but I managed to find a fairly local tallow from them. There were several options available when I checked.

I’ve never seen tallow available in a real life store. Which is a damn shame.

Local Ace Hardware sells it....Cornhusker Kitchen Beef Tallow. NOT cheap. Local butcher shop sells it. Easy to find on Google Shopping.

Butter is serious business.

Organic Valley butter is very good. Kerrigold. Vermont Creamery cultured butter is great. Raw Farm butter is excellent. VC is the most affordable of those. I use an organic, grass-fed cultured ghee in butter's stead quite a bit.
