I like to put Linux on old Chromeboxs and Chromebooks then give them to family members for TV set top or kitchen internet surfing. Bring life back to old machines.

Unfortunately I found myself to be that horder guy who has a huge pile bunch of old tech. There comes a point where playing with old stuff is hording. I can't find uses for it. I've started double sided taping tablets to my wall to watch network cameras to watch my bird feeders, and YouTube 24/7 bird feeders. I guess these are some of things you do when ya quit drinking. Birds and invent stuff, and eat pot gummies.

My only computer died on me like 6 years ago, I overcompensated. I now have 3 laptops (2 high end) and at least 5 desktops.

A secret is to get workstations from about a decade ago. When they're released they are 3,000-9,000 a piece depending on the hardware upgrades. You can pick them up for under 100 bucks on ebay, and throw a $200 used gfx card in it and a tb hardrive for $40 and for less than $400 you got a pc that crushes, and is much faster than even modern consoles still. You can buy a large xeon 6 core/12 hyper threaded server processors that absolutely crush for $20.

For awhile the dell t3500 was the best choice, I'd recommend the hp z4 now. You're welcome..
