Waaaa! Someone is gonna have to go do real work!

[ - ] Bottled_Tears 3 points 6 daysApr 23, 2025 10:56:19 ago (+3/-0)

I work at Intel but for Intel, I'm contract. They do do real work. The guys in the office don't. They just sit in their office bitch and moan and yell at the people in the fab to get to work while at home or in their office chair.

So I'm 50/50 on this decision. There are useless people but real workers too.

There are useless people but real workers too.

It's the pareto distribution. The square root of the number of total employees is the actual workers. Who just so happen to be almost entirely White and Male.

You may have heard this as the 80/20 rule, but the number is so much worse. Though there's some folks who don't really pull their weight, they do do certain things to make it easier for the few people doing most of the work.

The other 80% could disappear down a black hole and nothing would change, except that the mid workers would then have to deal with gov regulation and jewish bankers.

no, you seem to ignore the real issue here. more than 20,000 high paying jobs are going to be lost. those ppl have mortages and bills to pay that they will not afford working on a 7/11.

those 20,000 lost jobs means 20,000 more likely to be on some kind of public assistance in the near future. you dont see the long track of implications of this. at least a fraction will divorce, other will have to sell their homes and lower their standard of living meaning less purchasing power to the economy.

yes you miss to see the bigger picture here but am not surprised and btw this is happening to an american company with american workers. indeed you fail to see the bigger picture and something else intel has been laying off ppl for over 3 years. oof this is not good for the citizens not a bit.

If the fired employees had real jobs, e.g. they're qualified and knowledgeable electrical engineers, then someone has a job waiting for them. More likely these are useless and redundant hires brought on while Intel was hugely overvalued and had a harebrained scheme to take over microprocessor manufacturing all over the world.

It's called a reset that has been needed for a long, long time. Why should a company pay for people that aren't needed? Have you explored taking a econ 101 class? Supply and demand. You cannot artificially keep the supply if the demand is no longer there. Yes, people will need to change careers, update their resumes, boohoohoo. Welcome to life. No one has guaranteed you happiness or a life long job. Grow up and suit up!!!

And remember, this entire group (employees) are the people who couldn't think of a use for their own minds and bodies, so they sold their use to Intel. Maybe there's just not much value there.

are you even for real? these ppl do specialized work. something that you and i cannot do. people that work at tech companies arent stupid. if you think they then what i can say?

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 5 daysApr 24, 2025 11:08:10 ago (+0/-0)

They've made themselves someones tool. People literally tell them what to do and they do it.

While I agree with you on all points, I’d like to add that these are people with skills, apparently, that can and most likely will transfer over and be applicable somewhere else.

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] 1 point 6 daysApr 23, 2025 20:45:02 ago (+1/-0)

maybe if apple are looking for applicants or google or any other company that pays a high salary that they were used to. imagine earning lets say 30 bucks an hour. who is going to pay that? are they going to bust their asses for 10-15 bucks an hour? i highly doubt so. i mean thats better than getting govt assistance but these ppl has just been kicked out of the middle class.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 0 points 6 daysApr 23, 2025 21:12:21 ago (+0/-0)

What? $30 is barely middle class. Definitely not in California. Minimum wage here is $20.

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] 1 point 5 daysApr 24, 2025 09:22:23 ago (+1/-0)

that's california but here in florida is different and i was trying to make a point.

from copilot:
how much an intel worker does make per day?
Intel employees' daily earnings can vary widely depending on their role, location, and experience. For example, software engineers at Intel in the United States earn an average annual salary of around $129,887. Breaking this down, assuming a standard 260 workdays per year, this would be approximately $500 per day. However, roles like manufacturing technicians might earn less, while senior engineers or managers could earn significantly more1.

Does anyone else remember when AMD was the first to 1ghz?

Intel's answer, as usual, was to overclock a 900 mhz p3, resulting in an unstable piece of shit they had to recall.

That proves who runs (((intel))): the marketers. The engineers might get a say in things, but it's the marketers with their blue dancing assholes that decide what to do.

Shockingly, not innovating in any way has consequences.

[ - ] __47__ 0 points 6 daysApr 23, 2025 11:53:37 ago (+0/-0)

My sister works for a company that has Intel as one of its clients.

From what I understand from her, they expanded way too fast and too much when they were dominant in the industry. Now they have Google putting their own chips in their products and AMD has become a major competitor. She also said management from Intel are very difficult to work with so I'm guessing a lot of time gets wasted.
