You know you never really realize it until you do but one of the advantages of a look down viewfinder is that when you're taking photos of people you're always taking the photo from the level of their waste which makes everybody look taller. It's the same trick that makes movie stars all look larger than life. When you're taking a picture with your handheld camera phone you're taking a picture centered on their eyes and their face and so they're typically taking up less than half the frame and you're not quote looking up to them. But when you have one of these look down viewfinders you're always taking a picture from lower than your head level so the camera is always literally looking up at people and so those people always look tall because you're seeing them from the angle that you see a tall person. This is why movie stars are always assumed to be big and then you meet them in real life and they're short little Jews
