Thanks @system for doing this. This is the sub for skateboarding, graphics, shoes, techniques whatever. There is a creed followed by skateboarders and it's tough up until now.

I have smashed my head my hips my ankles my knees in pursuit of the finished trick. I've walked and skated with all sorts of characters.

A cool calm day was best. Late night causing the streets with their amber arc sodium lights. Meeting up with others. Talking to the hot red head to explain hidden treasures better.

Sitting with my bud on the country club Greenway. Smoking a bowl and letting the quiet breeze run over us as we looked at a farming house.

Sieg heil.

Who knows how to kickflip?

Just shy of turning 50; still got the kickflip. Started in the 80s, suffered through the early 90s, worked at a skatepark in the late 90s, and broke my leg in two places in a bowl early 2000s. Kids are slowly getting into it now.

my body cant handle slams nowadays but I still watch skate content every day and practice flatground tricks in my garage

I can kickflip but when I land it the board goes that way
I once broke my middle finger falling from a railslide and catching the fall (backwards) with my longest finger.
There is one thing I will never forget about rail waxing.

Transmission fluid is entirely TOO slippery.
Exactly what you imagine, fooooooosh ------> that way (meanwhile I went down, fast as well) crack

Waxing is an art. Like salt and food. Ya can always add more but when it's too much it's too much especially on metal.

Best thing I can recommend to older goats is just get a nice crusher with some big soft wheels.

I still have a fully equipped short deck but it's useless for speed and maintaining it on rough roads.

Never got into skating. Biking, specifically mountain biking, was always my thing.

I've gone through a dozen or so boards trying it out from time to time though.

Used to have a bud that would clock my speed on his mountain bike. 28mph on flat ground.

I cracked 60km on my mountain bike once. Had a large chain ring and a smaller final gear on my cassette. May have had the wind at my back but flat ground. No one ever really believed me... But I can hit 130rpm pedalling pretty easy and was sprinting. 1500 watt.
