As I've noted in the past I've never filed an income tax return.

After being made effectively unprosecutable I was told I had been under active IRS investigation. Which makes sense to me. Terrorism cases of the incitement or conspiracy variety are notoriously hard to get convictions with. Knocking out dissidents for political opinions at variance with the status quo by using the tax code is both easier and more desirable from fedgov's perspective.
