David is one of the biggest assholes in the bible (a book with no shortage of assholes). I couldn’t believe the jews lionized such a shady rat as David when I read it. Obviously he stabbed his patron, Saul, in the back— a man who put great trust in him and married his daughter to him. The whole Saul/David power struggle reads like the author is a “David” partisan trying to rehabilitate the treasonous behavior of David after the fact by employing myriad excuses like “Yahweh changed his mind” about Saul being the annointed king. Why does Yahweh change his mind? Was Saul a mistake?

The only one to change his mind was some corrupt priest.

The story of how David “won” Abigail, the wife of another man, who conveniently dies of a heart attack after David takes a liking to her, is a very suspicious tale. It seems like David and his followers are a rebel army that extorted food and supplies from rando innocent people they encountered. Of course Saul wanted to stop him. Why is Saul the bad guy? Oh yeah because his son ate honey. Now it all makes sense.

Also I hate that part where he dances. What a faggot.
