Goddamn right. Your body needs sodium, so reducing it is stupid. Adding potassium is what helps as you need a certain ratio of sodium to potassium for BP regulation. Commercial medicine is ass.

Except you need about 12 bananas a day to get the amount of potassium to have a positive effect on blood pressure..there are better foods out there with more potassium

So the key to having a good blood pressure is to have the right ratio of potassium to sodium in your blood. It's not just the sodium. It's not how much sodium you have it's whether or not you have potassium to match the sodium. So that's why when you're eating a banana which has a ton of potassium in it it's going to effectively regulate your blood pressure rather than reducing the sodium because reducing the sodium doesn't increase potassium.

This is why if you're worried about blood pressure one of the easiest things you can try is to go get that Morton Lite Salt in the grocery store which is half potassium chloride and half sodium chloride and you sprinkle it on your food and it's balanced potassium and sodium.
