Watched both. My thoughts.
1st one. I remember only three scenes. Beginning with Turing test, beautiful Sean Young looking like a noir vamp, and Rutger Hauger monologue about "I have seen things, you people wouldn't believe".
Beautiful visuals, annoying voice over for no reason, poor plot. Boring movie overall, especially because they used the name androids instead of clones, making it become dumb, instead of serious movie about clones.
2nd one. Still good visuals, but less beautiful than the 1st one. No charismatic actors this time. There are more interesting scenes, but not memorable. Plot is better, because explains them to be clones finally.
I hope they will make the third one, finally explaining the cloning problem, and why there is need for clone hunters, hunting illegal clones.

Well, kind of. Even in the sequel they show that each bone had manufacturing labels on them.
The original had a cut scene that would have shown machinery under the skin.
The concept is still about artificial humans. But there is a difference between Dolly (a born clone) and a creature that is made piece by piece and assembled as a finished form.
For me the "you look lonely" scene was the pinnacle scene of the sequel.
The sound choice for the gun scene was also something that was neat.

My complaint is that cyborgs is bullshit from abstract sci-fi. It's boring. Sci-Fi about human GMO clones with genetically enhaced features is interesting, because is real science fiction and is really scary. Is like comparing plausible Alien and The Thing to supernatural bullshit about ghosts.
Replicants is an interesting name when applied to human clones. Unfortunately, the writer had schizophrenia and struggled with clearly formulating his plots.
His movie Total Recall is also flawed. There are degenerates with psychic power as rfesistance against the evil. The remake is better, because has no degenerates, and instead of psychic powers, they just have a plausible mind reading machine that is based on lie detecting software.

Imagine knowing beyond any doubt that you are mentally, physically and emotionally superior to the people you serve, but at the same time being constrained from acting on that knowledge in any way, even while being treated like shit.
And they know it too.
Like when any White has to work with, or for, any jew or any form of shitskin.
