This is such a great point. If you taught your son boundaries as a child, they would've immediately reported any odd behavior from his coach. That's how I was raised. I was six years old, and I knew that "nobody is allowed to touch my private parts, and if they do, I should contact an adult I trust".

If your children understand the concept of private parts early on (they don't need to know WHY they're private parts until they are older), they won't hide a reaction to being abused. I think a lot of abuse victims feel confused by what happens to them, and then ashamed, which may be why they keep quiet... but I can't imagine hiding anything like that from my parents when I was growing up.
