Fortunately “I was provoked” is not a legal defense. She committed a crime and will be punished. She can use the “I was provoked” line to try and get her sentence reduced or for the court to show a little mercy…if she can prove it.

The fun doesn’t end with criminal court. A civil case will make that miscreants life a living hell. And will probably result in a judgement followed by legal fees, wage garnishment and a whole lot of regret for a long time. The victim just needs to follow through for the long game.
