Also the Emerald City = green (like money) and Oz is an abbreviation for ounce. (like gold).

TIL: The WoO is the first in a whole series of books by Baum.

I read about that in The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin way back in the day when I became interested in bankster history. I never realized the story was an economic allegory and it blew my mind.

Somewhere in the sands of time the author, I think his name was Otto, was asked about the parellels of the ruby shoes (they were actually silver in his book) and golden brick road. He responded to the effect that he was honored to have written an accurate analogy portraying the problems of the day, and was blessed to have written the fable talking about the Gold Standard.

It was at some school or college, he came in to talk to some students.

The quote was kind of profound and was way more telling than any snopes-trained AI.

L Frank Baum said several times the whole story just popped into his head. Making children happy with stories was his 'thing'.

I always felt that the flying monkeys were kikes acting as golems for the banking jews. Think Antifa.
