I won't be around come Tuesday. I'm going to inpatient rehab for my alcoholism. I can take 5 books which will I'll share with you all my choices. No electronics.
Like I've said before. Yall might just be names on a screen but I consider you all friends and I love you all.
I support ya however you quit. I'm no saint either, but I picked a weekend and quit drinking cold turkey, and replaced it with legal weed. It's almost 2 months off the Jew poison.
You could stop if you wanted to, assuming you have control over your own body. Don't buy it. Don't raise the glass or bottle to your mouth. Don't take a sip or gulp and swallow it. Failing any one of those steps would prevent you from drinking alcohol, and would involve far less drama and $ than rehab.
What about aversion therapy? Buy a nice taser. Take a sip of alcohol, tase your balls before you swallow. Once you're able, take another sip and tase again. Repeat as necessary. You'll end up with a nice taser, an aversion to alcohol, and an accumulating amount of spare money.
I know you're already going to rehab and all that and maybe it's better for you to remain totally sober, but assuming you live in a state (or even in the States) where weed is not legal, look into THC-A. It's a sorta loophole where essentially the sale of weed has been federally legal since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. It sounds to good to be true but the short version is that THC-A is the precursor of Delta 9 THC, the good stuff that gets ya medicated. The "loophole" is that the Farm Bill states that anything under 0.3% THC is classified as legal hemp, so even though some weed could test at like 29% THC-A and will convert to THC once heated by smoking, vaping, or cooking it, it is still classified as legal hemp. Sounds crazy but I've found it in many smoke shops in an illegal state and you can buy it online and have it shipped to your house.
See my reply to Drstrangest, yes homegrown is always the best stuff if grown halfway correctly and assuming you have the means. But THC-A is literally just regular ol' cannabis/marijuana/weed. Look it up. In the USA you can straight up buy weed online from reputable vendors and have it shipped to your door. Nothing synthetic, naturally grown. Check out luckyelk.com for shits and gigs.
Not sure what you mean? Like, different herbs besides cannabis entirely or you think THC-A is synthetic or too corporate or something? Because THC-A is literally just weed. It's not like delta-8 or HHC or anything made in a lab, it's literally naturally grown in soil or whatever because it's literally just weed. Look it up if you have doubts. I'm really into organic/natural stuff and would never put any lab-made dogshit into my body and would never recommend it to others. I mean, take a look at this site: luckyelk.com. Organic cannabis from Oregon farms. There's a million sites but these guys have greet reviews.
I'll check with my herbalist friend to see what she gave me for joints. What are your symptoms? Shes one of those sweet little old plant ladies and knows her stuff.
Quitting drinking is one of the best decisions I ever made. Sober reality is much more enjoyable now. I don’t even worry about slipping up anymore because I love being a non-drinker.
Lean on us for encouragement if you need it. I felt a wonderfull sense of freedom when I stopped craving alcohol. Hope that day is near for you. \o
My old self would have called you a quitter and a pussy, but I haven’t had booze for nearly 3 years now I don’t miss the hangovers and numbness and mystery bruises and the “good times” that brought more trouble than any good.
I swear, alcohol is made legal and available everywhere because governments love the effect that it has on the population. Turns you into fat, dumb, ignorant people who just work to support their drinking habit and pay taxes. The perfect debt slave, too poisoned to even fight back without months of recovery. It's brilliant in how sinister it is.
Remember, during muh "lockdowns", some towns had the only places that remained open being liquor stores. I recall it being explained as "if we close the liquor stores, then alcoholics will die in droves because they won't be able to get their fix". So, by their logic, the danger of the world-ending virus was not as severe as people stopping drinking. THEY WANT YOU DRINKING.
That should be all you need to know to make you avoid booze.
Its a massive money maker— like a trillion dollars a year. Of course they want you to keep drinking. They realize that if you cant drink for like 2 or 3 weeks in a row, many people will withdraw and quit drinking altogether
It's hard man. Alcohol helped me ease over a lot of problems like jews and shit. It's still a personal choice and wrong. I just checked out and didn't care when drinking.
i hear you sometimes we need to escape but we choose the wrong ave to do it. every vice has its consequences. whether is alcohol, drugs, sex, food or anything else.
you got to accept responsibilities for your actions and then when you do that the healing process will begin. it'll await you a tough time but as long as you are determined you can make it.
if you are believer prayer helps alot when dealing with addictions.
That's the one thing that made me kick addiction. You really need to want it, and HATE the addiction and yourself for allowing it.
After a while giving in to the addiction makes you sick and the pain of withdrawals pales in comparison for the hate you feel for yourself for being so weak.
Hate and anger got me sober, and even now I still use it to great effect for even mundane tasks like housecleaning. 'FUCK THESE DIRTY DISHES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'
It's hard man. Alcohol helped me ease over a lot of problems like jews and shit.
That is the illusion that alcohol gives: that the stress comes from all these external things and alcohol is the fix. What you don’t realize is that your sober periods are far more stressful because you are drinking. The regular alcohol consumption causes dysregulation of mood in between drinking sessions. I couldn’t believe how much less stressful those external stressors seemed when I had been off booze for a few months. You think booze helps you get over the misery and frustration you feel in your sober life. But its the opposite: it exacerbates that stress. So much of my angsty-ness went away when I quite booze and caffeine.
Awesome, dude. It’s going to be great when you’re off alcohol.
It’s all about dopamine. Alcohol gives a massive flood of dopamine when blood alcohol levels rise. After a few weeks, your dopamine receptors will normalize. You’ll want to focus on finding things in life that give actual joy.
A great starting place is hard work. Work gives us a dopamine drip. Perhaps you can start an enterprise and build some lasting wealth while serving others.
People and love bring us the other neurotransmitters of joy: Serotnin, endoprhins, and endocannibinoids. Make sure you’re never suffering from loneliness as it is VERY destructive. Make an effort to spend more time with family, siblings, or extended family.
There are Niggers to kill in jail too. The White Gods made you an alchoholic for a reason. Ride to Valhal with courage, and don't let anyone hold you back from your purpose.
Been 37 years for me. I just don't drink today and I don't worry about the rest of them. I spent the first three years thinking about drinking, the next three about not drinking and then I quit thinking about drinking altogether. Prayers are with you!
Hey bro, not sure if I’ve talked to you ever but I’ve been considering the same thing. I started a job as a sparky last year and I’m not the most sober all the time. I need to get control or give up and give in to the fact that I drink way too much and it’s a slow suicide.
Never liked rehab as a treatment. It fails what, 80% of the time? Seems like a huge waste of time and money, there are other treatment options that don't involve becoming essentially a prisoner.
I say this as a guy who dipped his toes into addiction. All of my friends (many years ago now) got hooked on opiates, and I was lucky enough to see them self-destructing and get out of that lifestyle before I got hooked or into any trouble. So, I've watched those friends (from a distance) undergo a variety of treatments. Rehab never seems to work- they come out and stay clean for a few weeks, and then right back to it.
I suppose some people need to be locked away during withdrawals. Especially for something as easily obtained as alcohol. It'd probably be better to do it at home though, being looked after by family.
Good on you, a friend of mine did the same a couple of years ago, changed her life completely for the better.
You'll go through some challenging moments though, if I may recommend one book that might give you some mental support and a good perspective, get a copy of Scott Peck's The Road Less Travelled.
Is it your first time? Have fun. Making rehab friends is great. I've nearly kicked the drink, but realized I can't have any even in moderation with my medication
I just love vodka too much. I hate what it does to me. But when I'm on. I don't care. Once I pop a bottle all I worry about is how much is left sorry to say.
I was in your shoes bout 8 years ago. I was at 1 liter of Gordon's per day. I quit cold turkey when I crashed my vehicle, resulting in the death of someone else. I got lucky with a light sentence for various reasons. But please learn from me you have to stop now.
The only one who makes you drink is you. Stop and don't look back. Just stop. Its no longer compatible with you because we change. I could never imagine myself not drinking but I cut it out cold turkey. If I can do it anyone can. I stopped in 08. Haven't drank a drop until about 3-4 years ago. I started drinking 2-3 beers and no more. So far I've done good with it but I needed that twenty year dry out
I will pray for you. That you are gifted with the release from the hold of addiction. I do wish for you all the blessings of health and more than just sobriety, but a life of clarity and peace. God be with you.
You will not miss constantly waking up hungover, tired, and having a drink just to feel "functional." All you need to do is endure a few days of your body getting used to functioning without being poisoned with alcohol.
Apparently apple cider vinegar is a great substitute for the burning feeling after downing liquor. It makes sense to me, because I've never enjoyed alcohol or ACV, and that's probably the biggest reason.
I'm curious, have you tried kava kava? That's the stuff that's supposed to give people an alcohol-free buzz. I've never understood how it works (then again I've never tried it, let alone as an alcohol substitute).
I have tried kava at a bar in my area. Blended juices with it to make it more palatable. Didn't care for it much then but may need to revisit it in the future.

Just do the 5x5 routine, I dare you to drink while doing that. You'll throw up so fucking fast.

Maybe take a long read, and something inspiring, and maybe something to learn. And a few others

You will not miss constantly waking up hungover, tired, and having a drink just to feel "functional." All you need to do is endure a few days of your body getting used to functioning without being poisoned with alcohol.
It will be worth it.
