Soldering is not that hard once your Learn a few things. But after 40 years it has become very difficult.

Most things are too tiny to get in there by humans. Some foreign lady's can do the surface mount stuff, but as stated, they aren't human.

My eyesight is now so shit, that when I put light on the area, the harsh glare makes it even worse.

Then came the 0402 components and hand soldering became a black magic art.
Took a tour of an assembly house about a year ago, and their pick and place machines were just mesmerizing to watch.

I saw a tour of in house mb production and they use a freaking x-ray machine to verify BGA soldering... Insane..

I watched the #2 video where they soldered the wire to the PCB turret. If I would have taken the finished product from that video to the instructor my Electronics Technician Maintenance School class, I would have gotten chewed out for excessive solder. The nuclear navy was not kidding around when it came to maintenance and repair of nuclear instrumentation and control equipment.
