What the ever loving fuck is that comma grouping? Are they trying to make it read "one (hundred and) eight (thousand and) two-hundred-thirty-four"? Anything under 100K has one comma between the hundreds and thousands, but as soon as it hits six digits you get this weird format.
Answered my own question: apparently they don't use multipliers bigger than ten, so 100,000 is a "lakh" and 1,000,000 is just "ten lakh". Fuckin weird.
