You're being disingenuous. Trump is doing a 10% tarrif across the board and tarrifs that match the tarrifs being placed on American goods if those tarrifs are over that 10%.
Smoot-Hawley Tariff was 60% and was at a time long before the American marketplace was as massive as it is now. If other countries want access to US markets, they shouldn't be tarrifing our goods on their markets. Simple As. Canada has 5600 different classes of products coming from the US that have tarrifs placed on them, some are several hundred percent tarrifs. Fuck that!
