We'll just go ahead and say they are

Btw, 8.8 in overall means strength. The bigger number, the better. Soviets used 5.8, then we got standard 8.8, but since shitskins started to produce moar shitty steel i see lately some 4.8(for example indonesia). Imagine, modern shitskins produce shittier steel than le backwards soviets produced in 70s.

Small correction: the lowest Metric hardness class is 4.6 (there is no 4.8 standard.) It's roughly equivalent to SAE grade 1, which nobody uses anymore (the default minimum is grade 2, which is basically 5.8.)

SAE standards only go up to grade 8, equivalent to Metric 10.9, but there are industry standards for grade 9 (Metric 12.9) and even grade 10. Although grade 10 is so ridiculously hard that, if your part moves at all, it might fail in a shear load or stretch its own bolt hole.

Check the last link. Lowest property class is 3.6. Also, in all links both 4.6 and 4.8 exist.
Also, it depends what book you hold atm. My estonian mechanical engineer handbook lists 5.8 as lowest class.
It all depends how many shitskins are in our country.

Right here. They're ISO R898 Class 8.8 which means they're 92 ksi yield and 120 ksi tensile.

Looks like ungraded chinese stainless, probably 18-10 stainless which is equivalent to grade 2.
