For tax write off purposes, or because some executives wanted to move things in a different direction politically (Iger) and needed to sacrifice a classic property to do so. Kind of a Springtime for Hitler meets Major League.

- 2 year delay
- Multiple changes post production
- A MASSIVE Crisis Management effort in the world press to attempt to minimize the damage. Both female stars were pushed into network media for months prior to the movie's release in a "I'm sorry White people" campaign.
- The marketing effort even attempted to cut the marketing budget in the final months to specifically prevent bad publicity shots from getting into the press.

If they wanted to create a loss for tax purposes, then why not burn the entire marketing budget promoting the film? It could have added Millions to total loss.

But where did that $300 mm really go? besides the salaries, which would be disclosed publicly, stuff like shitty CGI, P&E, ((publicity)) could go right back into some shell company's private account, laundered is my guess. Let me simply spell whats happening out for you and the other people on this site.

There is a multi-faceted extremely coordinated system that has been designed to destroy everything white people have made, love, or enjoy. Every company that was "American" is under full attack. Look at Budweiser, and Harley-Davidson are my best examples. Because it's so blatant and completely divergent to their customer base.

They don't care about how much money things lose, they don't care at all. We're fighting against the billionaire class that has agreed to lose half their billions to kill America, and Americans. But mostly white christian Americans.

They really, absolutely do not care about losing money. They have enough to cut their pile in half and still be billionaires. When you've beat the game of life, and you could cut your holdings to a 1/3 and barely notice is what we're going against.

Last couple years they went full DEI and started going the Budweiser route. Those people that pushed that forward are still in charge of large corporate decisions, but, I feel they realized the burn was too fast, it was going to cause a grass roots uprising so they turned the rhetoric back down because Trumpenstein. Just like every other company, they've all been bought out, to be killed, and gutted, to demoralize and remove our history. The best example of this is lifetime customers blowing up a pallet of bud light or their old Harley. You can find these videos. They've made the people that loved and built these American companies instantly turn on them and want to burn them to the ground. It's all high level psychological manipulation with the goal of demoralization and destruction of culture and history. They're willing to take the financial hit, they own most of the resources, the tokens used are meaningless at this point.

looked up the demographics of a Harley Owner - overwhelmingly white, male, over 45, higher than average income, married. can't imagine who they thought they were going to expand this base to. this base also refreshes itself. The failure screams for Disney to STOP moving in different directions and return to basic derivative shit. Kids movies are a simple formula and attempts to rebrand classic characters into revisionist woke flicks are a recipe for failure.

And, they don't need another failure to do it. Disney has been tanking all their classics and acquiring other classics, like Star Wars, and tanked those.

I know hollywood accounting is a thing, but I'm not privy to the inner workings and don't know how that money laundering works.

But what I do have a little experience with - especially now at tax time - is some of standard business workings.

A quick example that I am familiar with - simplified.

Suppose a business makes 100k in profit for the year (total revenue minus expenses), and has a 30% tax bracket.

The tax bill would be 30k.

Now suppose an expense came up of 30k. Most expenses do not apply directly to taxes, they take away from profit in that "revenue minus expenses" category.

So the total taxes is not now zero, it is just a 30% tax on 70k, instead of 100k, so that 30k expense only actually saves 9k on taxes.

There are very few business expenses that I am aware of (what people think of as "writeoffs") that are subtracted directly from the tax owed. Most end up on the expense side of running a business and given the choice (key thing here is choice) spending 30k to save 9k is a bad move (movie).
