My copy of the Declaration of Independence

Figured since Trump just moved the original to the White House, I'd show off the one hanging in my living room. I don't know when, but I guess my dad made this, probably more than 40 years ago. I don't remember seeing it growing up, but I found it stashed away in his garage after he passed away. My mother remembered him doing it, just not when or why.

I got one too. Haven't opened it in 6 years because I haven't made a case to display it in yet. Woodshop is almost done, so that will be the 3rd thing I make. First is the workbench, 2nd is a display for my Bible.

Would be funny if it was real. They do occasionally crop up. I know there was one that was purchased in a thrift shop in Nashville for $5 and it was rolled up and heavily shellacked and the guy who bought it just had a suspicion and hehad it studied and sure enough it was an actual real copy of an actual declaration of Independence or tue constitution. I forget which.

I've thought about that. The foggy origen story definitely excites my imagination. He probably got it at Disney world or something like that when we were kids, and I never noticed because I was distracted with the experience. Then again who knows, there was a lot of stuff in the box I found it in that you'd think would be treated with a bit more reverence that a dusty box in the garage. He wasn't really the sentimental type though.
