One Week on the Lion Diet

submitted by Trope to Health 1 monthMar 28, 2025 18:08:10 ago (+8/-0)     (Health)

I’ve struggled to lose weight on many different diets. Did Carnivore for 18 months a few years back and the results were fairly lackluster. After much experimentation, I realized dairy was preventing me from losing any weight. I’m not fat but I’m not as lean as I would like considering how much effort I put into my health.

Anyway, so I commit to red meat and salt only. Absolutely no dairy. Not even heavy whipping cream in coffee or butter in my eggs. Holy crap, the withdrawal was immense. Which came as a shock because I was already on a very clean ketogenic diet. Lost 10 pounds of glycogen water weight within 3 days and have been dropping by about a pound per day. Appetite has diminished. I expect to have six pack abs by summer.

And the best part: after the withdrawal, it’s incredibly easy. Just eat beef. And my mind is so clear. I feel great. Calm. No negative thoughts. Just a consistently good mood and great sleep. You don’t count calories because you won’t overeat natural real food so the caloric intake is reduced naturally.

I have skirt steak on the smoker right now. Ice Monkey, you should try this diet.

most benefits people see from diets where they immediately feel great is the elimination diet portion. simply removing certain items from your diet has an immediate effect.

Define dairy!
I drink goat milk if I drink milk, cooking I use canned milk
Cow milk is made for growing baby cows.
The kikes know it and "it does a body good"
What do they drink?
Yup,goat squeezing.
Milk, sugar, junk carbs and sedentary life style MERICA!

I was drinking iced coffee with heavy whipping cream, a popular low-carb option. But looks like my body can’t tolerate it. I didn’t gain weight but I didn’t lose weight either.

Wow. Exactly how much dairy were you consuming while on a strict keto diet?

If you had a huge withdrawal period while you were already in a state of ketosis, then your calorie intake must have been fairly high.

is it even possible to be in ketosis while consuming something that contains 12g of sugar per cup?

I'm almost certain that the milk sugar will hammer you out of ketosis every time.

Nope.

Are you referring to milk? I was only consuming heavy whipping cream in coffee, a popular low carb staple.

My diet for the last several months has been red meat, plenty of unrefined Utah salt, and coffee with heavy whipping cream unsweetened. And the occasion Son of Baconator no bun.

Unfortunately for me, it was the dairy. I was surprised that I went through withdrawal. But I’m happy now because I was getting pissed off that everyone and their mom can do dirty keto and lose 100 lbs. Then again, I’m not a 400 pound lardass either. Lol

I'm stoked it worked for you finally.

Perhaps the dairy's milk sugar was actually bumping you in/out of ketosis and you really didn't stay in until you dropped it.

That would be my guess. But I suspect it is more than just the lactose. Dairy is inflammatory. It’s good at making calves grow.

When I was 20, I went on a no-carb diet and had no problem dropping weight. Heavy whipping cream was my favorite food. Had six pack abs. Getting older sucks.

I coffee with cream a day stops me losing weight and going through carb withdrawal.

Glad I’m not alone. Shame if you try to research it as most communities and YouTube comments are full of 400 lb chodes drinking the shit by the pint and defending it.

Dairy is not Carnivore...You are now on the Carnivore diet.

It sounds like you were on a Atkins or anti carb diet before.

Semantic argument,

Please explain your statement.

I didn’t want to spend time explaining that many people in the carnivore community of YouTube believe dairy is a part of the carnivore diet. So we’d be arguing about the definition of the word rather than anything useful.

I’m with you: carnivore should refer to meat only. But people have ruined that.

Retards ruin everything. Follow DR Shawn Baker on YT for Carnivore diet.
Take care.
