My local Culvers

submitted by __47__ to TellTalk 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:35:19 ago (+11/-0)     (TellTalk)

For some that don't know, Culvers is a fast food joint that got started in Wisconsin. They make good fast food and a lot of it is actually fresh before cooking. Using boss Wisconsin cheese is icing on the cake. Known primarily for their butterburgers and frozen custard.

My paps and I went to eat at our local one the other day.

As we were walking up I noticed on the door it was owned by a fucker named with the last name Patel. I was pissed. American classic owned by a dot.

95% of hotels and motels are owned by pajeets

Ffs. Some days I just laugh as the world burns and some days I'm full of rage about it.

Anything that is Franchised out will be sold to the highest bidder for that location.

I'm willing to bet that even the Christian oriented Chic-Fil-A is guilty of this. The franchise owners most likely just agree to meet certain standard practices.

[ - ] xmasskull 6 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:42:01 ago (+6/-0)

I have to admit, a good frozen custard will make me a lifetime customer.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 6 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:48:00 ago (+6/-0)

The Key-Lime Pie custard is 100% worth the trip alone.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 6 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:45:26 ago (+6/-0)

It's delicious and they sell pints to take home. Jus look at the door before ya walk in.

[ - ] xmasskull 6 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:39:08 ago (+6/-0)

Of course, their ad makes the menu look fantastic, what is their specialty?

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 7 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:40:13 ago (+7/-0)

Killer burgers, and frozen custards.

You pay up for the quality, but it is worth it.

[ - ] mahavishnunj 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:49:19 ago (+5/-0)

Pot roast sandwich for me.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 7 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:43:43 ago (+7/-0)

Almost everything seriously. The food doesn't have that usual fast food heavy ugh feel after you eat.

[ - ] xmasskull 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:45:41 ago (+5/-0)

Damn good intel! Thanks.

[ - ] Bonanza 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:55:04 ago (+5/-0)

If you're in the mood for fish or a fish sandwich, their cod is a personal favorite of mine.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:01:02 ago (+3/-0)

Take this for what ya will. Saw some brits claim the fish sandwich there is better than anything in England. From what I understand the fish is fresh, breaded and cooked to order.

[ - ] Bonanza 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 19:52:45 ago (+1/-0)

I've heard the very same thing.

[ - ] bobdole9 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:20:38 ago (+3/-0)

Only fish sandwich I'd buy.

[ - ] bobdole9 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:17:58 ago (+3/-0)

specialty

Cheese curds and custard.

Everything else is also really good.

[ - ] dingbat 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:47:45 ago (+5/-0)

Culvers is the truth.

[ - ] mahavishnunj 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:48:26 ago (+5/-0)

Culver's rules. I think our only one is jeeted too.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 4 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:50:08 ago (+4/-0)

Condolences.

[ - ] Bonanza 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 13:58:39 ago (+5/-0)

Culver's used to carry awesome fried chicken, which outclassed all the other fast food joints - such as KFC - by a mile. Really ticked me off when they dropped it. Nothing good ever seems to last...

[ - ] bobdole9 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:21:53 ago (+5/-0)

My dad's favorite was the fried chicken dinner. Apparently it was too much of a pain / liability.

[ - ] Bonanza 5 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:37:25 ago (+5/-0)

Yeah, I could tell it wasn't long for the menu when they were constantly running out of it every weekend. Went in one Friday and whoosh, it was gone. Bummer.

[ - ] bobdole9 4 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:19:44 ago (+4/-0)

Been a Culver's fan since 1994.

I miss the chicken dinners, fried pickles when they were around in 2010, and Mountain Dew.

Fucks just HAD TO switch to Coke.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:52:11 ago (+3/-0)

Naturally. I hate Coke.

First one I went to was in Platteville Wisconsin.

[ - ] bobdole9 4 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 15:14:25 ago (+4/-0)

Favorite was one they used to have in Downtown Wisconsin Dells. They made it big in the late 90s when they built their own standalone building over by Wilderness / Great Wolf Lodge / Kalahari.

Though first was in my hometown.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 15:47:24 ago (+3/-0)

The Dells. Been a long time since I've heard of that spot.

[ - ] Sector2 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:08:16 ago (+2/-0)

Haven't been there since the ancient era. My first burger ever was in Wisconsin, a MacDonalds burger for 25 cents.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:23:42 ago (+2/-0)

At least ya knew what you were getting back then.

[ - ] bobdole9 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:18:14 ago (+3/-0)

Franchises

Brand is authentic, they bring in people with money to build the stores.

Each store to build from scratch is averaging $5-7.5 million.

So, he might be a dot, but that dot has a lot of assets.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 14:51:30 ago (+3/-0)

Absolutely.

I will admit too it was exactly what I expected as usual. Teens working the registers and delivering food. Good customer service and quick delivery of food. Absolutely clean.

[ - ] bobdole9 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 15:21:49 ago (+2/-0)

I will consider myself "retired" when the family has enough capital to open our own in northern Georgia.

By then, we will have the franchise food service experience (and money) to buy in. My lengthy history of the business should be seen as an asset.

Good that your local place upholds the standards. Michigan restaurants are dirtier and sloppier by far. Went to Monroe, MI and the fucks put on Velveeta slices on the burger!

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 15:49:56 ago (+2/-0)

It'd do good there. Once people know what it is.

For sure.

Velveeta? Rope time.

[ - ] bobdole9 3 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:14:11 ago (+3/-0)

The ones "nearby" (30 minute drive at least) are always busy like back home...and TV ads run on local news too.

Luckily there are several great spots available; hope they'll last.

Velveeta

I was confused at first when I was eating it, then dots connected. It's just Michiganders Michiganding. At least it wasn't Cheeze Whiz.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:22:30 ago (+2/-0)

Blech. Makes more sense now

If Dario every makes it out of the Carolinas that place is great too.

[ - ] bobdole9 0 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:32:11 ago (+1/-1)

Willing to send a link?

Seems "Dario" turns up a Minneapolis Italian restaurant
https://www.dariorestaurant.com/

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:36:00 ago (+2/-0)

Dairio.com/locations I probably misspelled it in the other reply

[ - ] bobdole9 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:40:44 ago (+2/-0)

Closest one (Hendersonville) is only around a four hour drive.

I've gone further without any dorection before, might make a day of it and see Asheville after.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:44:37 ago (+2/-0)

Right on. It's very 50s inspired imo. The one near me had to buy a plot of land near it for additional parking it's so damn busy all the time. Monster burgers are the thing.

Watch out for Asheville. Beautiful, highly liberal. Bunch of west coast cunts moved there and drove up home prices cause they think it's chic. Trying to be like Colorado id say. Worth seeing still though.

The Name Patel Has Power In The Indian-Indian From India Crowd...

It Means "THE BOSS MAN" Figuratively And Is Taken Literally

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 15:48:01 ago (+2/-0)

Interesting I didn't know that. Thanks.

[ - ] bobdole9 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 16:18:23 ago (+2/-0)

Top Caste

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 18:08:48 ago (+2/-0)

At least it's not owned by a jew, but hopefully you don't mind the taste of ranjeet's feet on your burger.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 18:12:19 ago (+2/-0)

Lol. Didn't see one jeet there just the name on the door.

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 18:21:26 ago (+2/-0)

Just wait til the H1B visas come in. They'll need specialists from India to make their new Wisconsin goat cheese and curry burger. The great replacement will dot their eyes now.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 18:43:35 ago (+2/-0)

Lol suppose I'll enjoy it while it lasts. My neck of the woods isn't too jeeted out yet. Mostly drunk illegal spics, niggers and white trash meth/fetanyl heads. Course the liberal crown too living in the posh area of town with their stupid BLM signs in their white neighborhood yards.

[ - ] bobdole9 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 18:51:48 ago (+2/-0)

The jeets are in Des Moines.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 1 point 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 18:53:31 ago (+1/-0)

Ffs. What the fuck do they want anything to do with Iowa? Unless and likely so Des Moines has drastically changed since I was last there, it's kinda out in nowhere.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 00:15:29 ago (+1/-0)

Before I moved, a lot were being hired by insurance underwriting for some reason.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 00:32:44 ago (+1/-0)

Highly suspicious. When I was in IA it's education system was #3 in the country. Likely "saving" money.

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 19:55:04 ago (+2/-0)

It's easy to pretend all races are the same when your community is 80%+ white and the few minorities are all yellow or in the top few percent of their race.

[ - ] __47__ [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 19:57:53 ago (+2/-0)

I know it. When I was living in DBQ IA back in the day it was 98% white. Way too easy to believe what the TV says about other groups when you have no direct exposure to them.

[ - ] Trope 1 point 2 monthsMar 28, 2025 17:55:18 ago (+1/-0)

Culver’s makes a good burger but everything else tastes like cheap frozen breaded fast food. I generally avoid it. But I don’t frequent many fast food venues. If I do, my usually diet goes by the wayside. In which case, Culver’s hit in the way that processed fast food should hit.
