Those regular working people are the prime supporters of the ranchers they hate, even if they're too oblivious to understand what they're doing. Those are the people who can't find a use for their own minds and bodies, so they sell the use of their minds and bodies to someone who can profit from them. But then they also kick back a large cut of their earnings to the ranchers they complain about...
