Are the Elderly Being Dosed with Dangerous Antipsychotic Drugs?

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2025-03-24/are-elderly-being-dosed-dangerous-antipsychotic-drugs

Antipsychotic medication was the subject of a ¨black box¨ warning, issued by the FDA in 2005 and then again, in 2008. The warnings, which stated that the drugs should not be given to those over sixty years of age, was largely ignored by the elder care industry and by prescribing doctors. According to Psychiatry Online, “The prescribing labels of all antipsychotics are now required to carry a standard warning.”

“The boxed warning will say that elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis and treated with antipsychotics have an increased risk of death,” said Thomas Laughren, M.D., director of the Division of Psychiatry Products at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, at a June 16 press conference. The revised labels were to be finalized within 30 days of the mandate.

The first round of black box warnings, in 2005, were aimed at second generation antipsychotics, atypical antipsychotics, such as Aripiprazole (Abilify), Asenapine (Saphris), Brexpiprazole (Rexulti), Cariprazine (Vraylar), Clozapine (Clozaril), Iloperidone (Fanapt), Lurasidone (Latuda), Olanzapine (Zyprexa), Paliperidone (Invega), and Quetiapine (Seroquel). The 2008 warning was extended to all antipsychotic medication, including first generation, including Chlorpromazine (Thorazine), Fluphenazine (Prolixin), Haloperidol (Haldol), Loxapine (Loxitane), Perphenazine (Trilafon), Pimozide (Orap), Thiothixene (Navane), and Trifluoperazine (Stelazine).

These “black box warnings” were issued due to acknowledgement of increased risk of death in the elderly who took these medications. According to an article in the British Medical Journal, published in 2024 https://www.bmj.com/content/385/bmj-2023-076268 ”The main outcomes were stroke, venous thromboembolism, myocardial infarction, heart failure, ventricular arrhythmia, fracture, pneumonia, and acute kidney injury, stratified by periods of antipsychotic use, with absolute risks calculated using cumulative incidence in antipsychotic users versus matched comparators. An unrelated (negative control) outcome of appendicitis and cholecystitis combined was also investigated to detect potential unmeasured confounding.”

Without question. My grandmother is on enough Xanax and Seroquel to knock out a full grown man. She is the opposite of depressed or anxious. I mean, without that shit. Now she's zombified.

100%. The internal medicine doctors make an absolute killing off of the feeble minded on Medicaid and Medicare. These people are absolute cash cows for the big pharma drug pushers. I know this for a fact. I have spent the last decade + working with people with intellectual disabilities. There people are especially targeted. It’s nothing to see these guys with 20-30 medications. They will prescribe them every possible thing they can if they don’t have a vigilant guardian overseeing the situation. Because otherwise they just have an incompetent group home that is basically obligated to do everything they say as the medical professional. People think because mental institutions are largely gone they aren’t still drugging the shit out of these people… It’s insane really. Now of course some people are all kinds of fucked up and need this but I strongly believe there is an abuse in the situation as a whole. I have several clients that can barely keep their head up and finish a sentence before they are asleep and drooling on themselves. It’s a very sad existence.

the elderly are being pumped full of drugs, the more the better. Big Pharma and their cronies (doctors) can't stop having fun

my mom was prescribed with buspar by her doctor because according to her she has anxiety and after the first dose she threw the bottle away because it made her feel more anxious.so she rather deal with the issues the hard way (lack of sleep and constant body pain) than to be drugged up all day.

yes they are poisoning the elderly with shit

Shouldn't be giving that shit to teenagers either. Side note, I was prescribed at least three of those medications listed as a kid, in addition to Prozac, depakote, Ritalin, lithium, and risperidone, plus whatever else I can't remember. It was a lot. That was back in the 90's. I stopped taking all of it at 18 or 19 and my life spiraled for a couple years. It took a long time to recover, and I did it alone and the hard way. All of that shit is poison, fit only for niggers and the kikes that designed it.

This. I did that routine, except it was later in my 20s. I just had OCD and next thing you know I'm doing the antidepressant dance. I ended up on some combination of all of them, usually 3 at a time. Fucked me up beyond belief, I probably lost 10 years of quality existence from that shit. There's no question it fucked me up permanently.

I was diagnosed with ADD at 11 and BPD at 16. I don't have either of those things. When I was diagnosed with BPD, it was right after a friend from school and my two year old nephew died within a week. My nephew and I shared a name, and I spent a lot of time doing things for him well beyond the responsibility of a 16 y/o, talking about emptying colostomy bags and changing IV bags. He was a sick kid. Needless to say I was having a hard time processing all this, combined with a crisis of faith and they stuck a label on me and boxed me up mentally disabled. This shit is way more common than people realize, and the whole trans kids thing is the evolution of what was done to us.

They'll say you have BPD dealing with the mental strain and, honestly, depression of losing two people you care about close together, yet fucking crazy mothers who are absolutely convinced their children are "trans" are considered rational and doing what's in the best interests of their child. The child is considered mentally stable and brave for seeking "gender affirming" treatment (even if they don't actually want to). Hell, those kids will probably be considered mentally defective, and put on heavy medication if they don't go along with their mother's insane delusions, and still forced to go through hormone blockers, the wrong hormone treatment, and genital mutilation, and a forced mastectomy if born a girl, and a forced castration if born a boy.

Those "mothers" need to be left in a ditch. Of the father divorces her and tries to stop it, he's threatened with prison by a "judge."

You'd have to see what these people are like without meds. TONS are dementia ridden braindead zombies. You can't euthanize them so you just drug them to hell

I've seen it first hand. My great grandmother lived with us the last 15 years of her life, died at 94 in my family home. The last eight years she had severe dementia, like up wandering around the house at three AM calling me her son's name and pleading that I take her home. Like, granny you are home and I ain't Timmy. My father was a doctor, so she was in good hands. She actually was sort of euthanized by way of morphine overdose.

Exactly, it's sad af and there's no great options here

Kikes put me on two of the drugs on that list, plus a third one from the same group that isn't listed there. It was the worst time of my life. Those drugs aren't designed to help the patient, they're designed to hurt Whites by zombifying us and keeping us from living our lives however we want, while the kiked pharma industry rakes in trillions.

May sound horrible in a way but I'm glad a lot of elderly relatives checked out before all this shit. They all got to go peacefully and usually at home. Except my grandma that had dementia and alzheimers so her passing was a blessing for her as she didn't even know who we were by the end.

Giving away they lived how they treated the world and how they pulled up the ladder out from underneath us I really could give a s* last about the plight of the f** Boomers getting doped up to Oblivion f* them

[ - ] ProudRebel 0 points 1 monthMar 26, 2025 12:34:57 ago (+0/-0)

Doctors know this and don't give a fuk

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 1 point 1 monthMar 26, 2025 13:04:12 ago (+1/-0)

Oh they fuck, just not about the patient. When that sexy little drug rep comes bringing lunch for the office, from the best restaurants in town, pitching a deal about scheduled bonuses based on how many scripts they write those doctors definitely give a fuck about that. Perks of the job, all the literature says it's safe and effective, plus you get a customer that's never satisfied and still gives you their business.
