I wonder what biological advantage that provides? Maybe a better view of the fish?

Its more to do with minimising heat loss as flamingos are standing in cold water all day.

They also don’t care about the fish, their bills are adapted to skim feeding that pink algae, which is why they turn from white to pink and their eyes red eventually.

Tell that to the flamingos in southern florida that skim in the marshes- water that’s probably 90-95 degrees F and above…….

Water is a better conductor of heat than air. Stand in warm water long enough and you’ll feel cold eventually.
