Religious behavior is normal human behavior. It might be irrational but its not “retarded”. We are genetically programmed to behave in religious ways, such as comprehending the world symbolically or viewing certain objects as sacred or taboo. This religious behavior is not limited to theists. Atheists/secularists behave in religious ways around their own ideological/political beliefs. You can’t get away from the problem of believing untrue or silly things by rejecting theism. Atheists are manipulated as zealous followers as much as traditional religionists.

In general, its better to believe things that are true IMO which is why I discourage theism but no all theists don’t deserve to be shot. Youre being naive about the rationality of non-theists.
