Yeah man, and think about this: that area seems pretty quiet at the moment. There doesn't sound like a whole bunch of gunfire going on, the only noise is the men yelling and the little vehicles driving up and down that road.
What I'm getting at, is they are actually able to hear these fucking things in this video. And they are not distracted by being engaged in a firefight with small arms or anything, they could devote their full attention to the wounded and incoming drones. That's not usually a luxury they have. I don't envy any of the men fighting in this fucked up war.
Great video, but definitely not for recruitment purposes.
Still think the Russians should go extremely heavy on drone forces. They're proven to kill both armor and infantry at up to 10 or 15 kilometers. Send swarms to clear areas before actual humans go.
Yeah at this point it's ridiculous that humans try to hold territory when drones are around. Which means what you have to do is seek out the origin point of the drones themselves and take them out and that's how you win the war.
And because these drone control centers are so vital to operations, they are well-hidden and heavily defended with ground forces, and of course shitloads of drones. They probably use even cheaper, but still effective, drones to defend these bases with, since they don't need the range to be really high.
I remember someone describing the battles early on as this: both sides set up drone HQs, one side begins an assault. Both sides use drones effectively. A few different means are used to try to locate the enemy drone HQ. Once located, the Russians like to use artillery and airstrikes to blow them up. The side that loses their drones first is at a massive disadvantage, and they will begin to retreat or attempt to reestablish drone operations.
What a shitshow. Nobody has medical gear, nobody knows how to deal with their wounded, nobody knows where they're going or what they're going into.
I suppose I am spoiled as a former US ZOGbot who fought irregular resistance. I'd always wondered how an actual war between forces using similar conventional modern weaponry. Turns out, it's really gay- using little drones to kill/maim enormous numbers while expending tiny amounts of resources and not putting your men into danger.
I presume the attack these guys were sent on failed pretty badly; the way they're talking, the air is thick with drones just up ahead. They probably moved into that zone, got blown to shit, and tried to retreat back up this little road. The road/terrain doesn't seem to be able to accommodate heavier vehicles.
This is true attrition warfare. The war against insurgents is vastly different.
