What else is the meanings of their names, in that order, telling us? Let the demons within you kvetch and gnash their teeth. See The Way, The Truth and The Life.

ProTip: Most Ethnic groups name their people comprehendable names with meanings that don't need to be translated.
If it isn't immediately apparent what these people's names are and mean, then they aren't your people.

Very few words, let alone names, have meaning that are apparent. That is why we have to memorize definitions of words.

When you have a conversation, you have to stop and look up every word that is spoken to you in a dictionary?

[ - ] firestation7 0 points 1 monthMar 24, 2025 11:10:12 ago (+0/-0)

No, because I have the context of being fluent in my native language. That doesn't mean I know what the names Nancy or James mean inherently. I would have to look them up.

If I was also fluent in Greek, Latin, and probably German, I could probably figure out the meanings nearly every English name and word.

Well, you aren't going to figure out the meanings of the (((Christian))) names unless you learn Some (((Afro-Asiatic))) languages.

That was not your original argument. I do not disagree with what you just said though.

My original argument is that you should immediately know the meaning of, say, the name "John" without having to translate it to Hebrew and find out it means "Jewish-God is Jealous", or whatever bullshit it originally meant.

A good Ethnic name is understood as it is.
Like "Hunter".
or, "Bear".
Or, "Jew Beater".

My oldest daughter is named Believe, for middle names my children have Alexandra, Alexander, Maple, Dragonsbane, and Pinecone. Some of them have more traditional names, but I share these to illustrate that I basically agree with your conclusion but not your premise. If meanings of names matter it should not be a guessing game.

They knew their language, they didn't need their names to be translated, retard.

We need it translated now because we are thousands of years and many languages removed.
