Despite the left-wing cancer that took over Mozilla, hardened Firefox is still the best and only choice.

Vivaldi is pretty good despite being Chromium-based. Some people don't like that it's not completely open-source.

Floorp and Zen seem promising. Haven't tested them yet.

Can't you make Firefox privacy friendly by toggling a few options, which is essentially what Librewolf is?

I don't know. I don't care about privacy, apart disabling tracking cookies by extensions, never tried to tweak any settings.

Waterfox is decent if you create the stupid JSON policy file which stops it trying to update itself (disabling the updater binary doesn't stop the error messages). uBlock Origin to make the internet functional generally.

On mobile, Mull is a good similar option.

Mull no longer gets updates since the company behind it is gone. I've been using IronFox instead but there's a couple things that aren't as good as mull. Sucks that mull is dead

Do you mean Waterfox is junk by default, unless you manually fix it?

Ffs Brave

When you search “secure browser” in google what’s the first browser that shows up?

You tell me if you’re stupid for choosing that browser as a “secure” choice.

[ - ] Conspirologist [op] -2 points 1 monthMar 21, 2025 11:33:48 ago (+0/-2)

Define secure. Are you talking about fucking privacy? Are you some kidiot who repeats bullshit from internet? All browsers are the same and have backdoors. I thought you were intelligent before this.

Why are you on voat? Why not just go to the first "reddit alternative" site google gives you when you search it up

Don't tell me where to post, kike nigger faggot.

Google gonna tell you what browser to use though lol

I have been using Vivaldi for a few years now and am pretty happy with it. Didn't know it would be considered privacy focused.

[ - ] rapid_water 1 point 1 monthMar 21, 2025 13:45:38 ago (+1/-0)

the only issue with Vivaldi is that very few people use it; so it's easier to track you online because you have a more-unique browser

Be warned, Firefox/Mozilla is full woke and 100% evil.

https://lunduke.substack.com/p/the-firefox-terms-of-use-backlash

They're going to 100% crash when the DOJ stops all Google payments for being a default search as that's 80% of their income/revenue.

IMHO, if you want the Firefox/Gecko engine try Floorp (the other forks of FF are mostly woke/dei crap like Mozilla itself)
If you're okay with Chrome/Blink engine then try Vivaldi

Hope and pray that Ladybird manages to come into existence.

Also at some point Lunduke pointed out that no one really knows who's behind Librewolf. It doesn't bother me that much but he seemed to think it was a significant consideration.

After Firefox's new privacy hating TOS dropped, I ended up landing on Brave. I loved the treeview tabs for Firefox and Brave is the only Chromium browser I'm aware of that implements something like that, though not as well as the Firefox extension does (no nested tabs, for example). Plus since I always have a million tabs, Brave does a really good job at unloading active ones from memory.

I also use Librewolf from time to time like if I need another browser for some specific reason.

I use Brave because the owner is not a woke faggot. But the design is not minimalist like Chrome. I had to waste time to cut all the crap. Anyway, no browser is perfect now. Only Netscape was. The kikes discontinued it to let Google become the monopolist.

[ - ] Bottled_Tears 7 points 1 monthMar 21, 2025 08:50:07 ago (+7/-0)

Been using Brave for a long time and barely get any pop up shit and always have info private. Plus the free crypto is nice but they axed it pretty bad a few months ago. Barely get anything anymore. Used to get $15-30 a month. Now it's barely $1-2.

[ - ] SocksOnCats 1 point 1 monthMar 21, 2025 12:11:38 ago (+1/-0)

Brave user here as well. Was very cautious moving in to it, but after some years I really enjoy all the blocking it employs. In fact, in a few cases it's overly aggressive and I have to use Chrome for a couple of news websites.

Brave is pretty good as things go.

What happened to Opera though? I've used that a bit and I actually like it. How does it stack up now?

[ - ] Bottled_Tears 2 points 1 monthMar 21, 2025 12:39:24 ago (+2/-0)

No idea. Never used Opera besides experimental for education saying "it's the next thing!". Just like every browser.

I'm happy with Brave. I watch all my movies on the free websites available without downloads and stream just like Netflix.

Here you are Brave lads.

Been watching everything for free without torrents. It's a real girl getter ;)
