"Everything you say to your Echo will be sent to Amazon starting on March 28

Amazon is killing a privacy feature to bolster Alexa+, the new subscription assistant."

By default, they already send everything to Amazon. This is taking away the option to opt out, which I doubt many people do. If they cared about privacy they wouldn't buy one of these.

These were being handed out for free a couple years ago. I got multiple notifications from YouTube premium that they wanted to "thank me for my loyalty" by sending me one. I wonder how many window lickers took them up on that generous offer.

Good little communists who think White Christians kill gays and adulterers and beat their children want one in every home.

Its like inviting a rabbi into your home to sit on your couch 24/7. Why would anyone do that?

I've heard of multiple court cases where recordings from Amazon Alexa's were used in cases of domestic abuse, divorce, and child abuse cases. They provided the state with months, and months of recordings.

A New Hampshire judge ruled in November 2018 that authorities could examine recordings from an Amazon Echo device recovered from the home of murder victim Christine Sullivan for use as evidence against defendant Timothy Verrill. Investigators believe that the device, which belonged to the victim's boyfriend, could have captured audio of the murder and its aftermath.[108]

I wouldn't be surprised i-phones, and etc are doing the same.
