Every generation falls for shit like this. They didn't know off the top of their heads so they started searching the store inventory to try to help a customer, ie do their jobs.

I was sent to find 50ft of flight line when I joined my first airforce base. That's how you get to meet all the other departments.

It's workplace first day test hazing. These kids handled it just fine.

I agree. Saying we’re lost is a bit overkill on this one.

A bucket of frequency grease

Did you ever find the keys for the flight deck yet?

No!

We have a tonne of those in the kitchen.

Bacon-stretcher, banana peeler!, long-stand.

I once sent a particularly retarded male server down to the company store (ski hill) for a can of felatio. The woman working the store was a hardcore christcuck prissy bitch. Hilarity ensued.

I used to work for Home Depot back in the day and at one point RIDGID actually came out with Left and Right hand hammers. They had a specific grip with a little raised spot to put your thumb on. I don't think we sold more than 2 over the entire time I was employed there.

Man working their was probably the worst job I ever had. Pay was shit. Shifts were shit. I remember quitting after dealing with some street shitter asking me about the specs on a grill at 10 o clock on a friday night.
Straight up walked out the door and said never again. Last time I ever worked retail.

You can't differentiate between there and their so yea.. donning the orange apron of shame is what you deserve.

Used to work there as a lot attendant when I was 19. Was there exactly 30 days, had my probation interview on my last day because I got hired at Earthlink.

Used to push carts, load pallets and pallets of bricks, shingles, bags of cement, bale cardboard, do everything. I was strong af back then, and I was still tired at the end of the day.

Doing tech support was far more stressful though.

Some of these fancy hammers just feel inferior. Like if you want to hit a nail square on the head the last thing you'd want is something complicated in your hand. Who the fuck struggled with the plain stick?

Maybe if you are doing something demo something that won't twist in your hand 0.05 less is a slight nice. But then why is it everything but a sledge that you see it on?

Reminds me when ergonomic shovels were a thing they tried to push and they were everything but.

At least they're working

the real problem with this is if you're the one guy that's not a retard you end up doing everything

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 21:28:24 ago (+1/-0)

*You end up doing anything else.

[ - ] Bottled_Tears 4 points 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 18:45:37 ago (+4/-0)

Guy in the back new it was a joke and let them show their stupidity. Probably actually does the work and knows his work.

[ - ] dassar 1 point 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 21:34:32 ago (+1/-0)

Yep, and tbf you could probably do this to any youngster on their first job out of school. (However working in a dang hardware retail store they should really know better).

[ - ] Clubberlang 1 point 2 monthsMar 18, 2025 10:07:38 ago (+1/-0)

Apparently they aren't the sharpest tools in the ____.

[ - ] x0x7 0 points 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 21:49:37 ago (+0/-0)

I've both worked at and shopped at home depot. They do hire for head count.

[ - ] Clubberlang 1 point 2 monthsMar 18, 2025 10:08:30 ago (+1/-0)

As long as she gets the job done.

[ - ] Doglegwarrior 3 points 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 18:19:37 ago (+3/-0)

It's truly sad

[ - ] texasblood 2 points 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 19:15:46 ago (+2/-0)

The hammers are next to the 2X4 stretchers

[ - ] KyleIsThisTall 0 points 2 monthsMar 19, 2025 10:44:08 ago (+0/-0)

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 3 points 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 18:29:53 ago (+3/-0)

Of course not. It's like asking for a light bulb repair kit.

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 21:30:25 ago (+1/-0)

Yes. Several types.

[ - ] VitaminSieg 1 point 2 monthsMar 17, 2025 23:15:18 ago (+1/-0)

If they can't find him a left-handed hammer, they're never going to find him the left-handed nails.

I think that's the most dickish part: ask for something absurd, but plausible on people who likely know nothing.
