Iirc Thomas Sowell notes in 'Ethnic America' that wops in the US followed in the footsteps of trails blazed by Irish and Jews in the US. Not to say there wasn't something similar long before in Sicily - but wops basically perfected that which was started by others.

Italians were a pretty late group in the US after all. Basically post-1870 or even early 20th century considered in terms of huge numbers.

The jews run them but they hired anyone for "dumb muscle". But they were only ever hired,they never ran anything. I think that's why they wanted Al Capone so badly. He wasn't jewish but was running his own mob.

There definitely were Irish and Italian gangsters, but jews operated in the background and used them both for things that might expose the jews participation in crime. Like everything they do, they funded it, controlled the money, the bookkeeping, and the administration, and let the Irish and Italians act like violent mobsters for public view. This is very well documented. I would recommend Hank Messick's book on Meyer Lansky for an in-depth description of how he ran his financial empire, which at one time he called "bigger than General Motors".

Southern Italy and it's islands (Sicily) is the birthplace of today's ((( Italian ))) mafia.

This area is known for being a Mecca of Jews who were forced to convert to Catholicism or be killed. They are known as Conversos, and Marrano. They pretended to be Christians but still secretly practiced their Jewish religious rites in private.

Every race has gangsters, some more than others, but all organized crime is jewish.

It's a vital part of controlling the monetary system.
