You do understand that Trump is trying to end this without any further loss of life.

He is literally asking Putin to spare over 10,000 force conscripted "soldiers" that Jewlenskyy pushed into a suicide mission just to gain ~80miles of Russian land he wanted to use as a bargaining chip.
