Growing up my right-wing father kept a shotgun in the corner of a room without a trigger lock and told me to leave it alone. I did. Nonetheless, though I'm pro-gun this is a fairly ironic post really. Considering the 18 checkbox how many kids have died by guns vs. solo videos of the type I used to post? It is also obvious that the easy availability of handguns in the US says something about why our cities are notorious shoot 'em ups that Europeans find very foreign.

According to the Small Arms Survey, the United States has the highest rate of civilian gun ownership per capita, with approximately 120.5 firearms per 100 people, significantly higher than any other country; the second highest is Yemen with 52.8 guns per 100 people.

Because we can! Surveys of countries with strict anti-gun laws shouldn’t count in the survey. Better yet, look at a country with bans on civilian gun ownership, remove the bans and watch civilian gun ownership skyrocket.

It's more the matter of HOW MANY guns are in circulation, though legality contributes to that. Places with strict gun laws like Mexico or even US cities just end up awash with guns - which are easy to use to kill people. This kind of availability doesn't exist in the United Kingdom. I'd like to see the average guy there getting his hands on a handgun as easily as can be done here.
