Communism is like banging your head through a boulder. They are actually right no one has banged their head through the bolder yet. But trying harder isn’t going make it less deadly.
I am extremely anti communist, etc, but I am pretty sure these guys were doing okay before all the 'sanctions' that stopped their oil sales.
This is not a defense of their political system, of which I know basically nothing. But the reason their country is fucked is because we fucked it, as far as I know, and not due to their shitty political situation.
Am I wrong about this? I'd be happy to know more if someone has info on it.

Eh, they wouldn't be starving in the streets if they didn't go communist. Sure, times would be hard but communists tend to kill off all non-communists when they take over. That basically wipes out anyone who know how to do stuff, like farming, water treatment, plumbing, etc etc.
And you can always sell that oil outside the US, just for less money. Or more, depending.
You're right. But I do think the US sanctions go further than a simple "we aren't buying your oil", I think they're similar to what they're doing to Russia (eg. They are actively attacking and punishing any other country that attempts to buy the oil as well).
It doesn't change the whole communist thing, but I swear they used to be rich and communist just because of the ridiculous amount of oil they have.
Well, US is boycotting any country that is socialist. Cuba is screwed too, but we will never know if they are screwed because of socialism, or because of US sanctions.
