Never could get into that brand. They were always packed too tight with a hard draw. Dunno about you, but I'm not the kind of guy who can suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

Handrolled with good tobacco suited me better, and there's a zen to it.

I felt the same way about American Spirits as well until I busted off the filter and smoked one like that. It really made it burn a lot easier.

Been smoking my own tobacco using a pipe for 6 months now.

While ive made other life style changes.

I've never been smarter, stress free. Learn easy as fuck. Great memory retention and recall.

Probably about 1 cigarette worth a day.

No addiction signs. I dont crave when i go days without. (Leave the pipe at home when travelling)

No just Nicotiana tabacum.

Pick the leaves.
Hang them to dry for about a month.
Bundle them up to ferment/cure for three months in hot water cupboard.
Shred using a cheap tobacco shredder. Only labor intensive part.
Store in a food preserving bag, silver material thing to keep air and light out.

I give most of it away.

Get about 100-150grams a plant.
Plus new seeds.

I planted 50 new plants this year. Bloody chickens left me with a dozen.

That's what I do for ciggies, doesn't seem it would make a nice pipe tobacco.
I've done some vacuum sealing experiments which turned out close to pipe baccy. Been trying to grow enough for a full bale to compress so it can properly ferment, takes a shocking amount tho.

What worked really well for me.

Put the leaves in a large sealed container. Put in it a bowl, add rum/whiskey.

Leave for weeks.

Its reslly smooth, ferments where piles dont. You need to hace done moisture, the booze adds it.
