It's because those threads and comments aren't for regular users. The messages are targeted directly at the propagandists.
The userbase doesn't pick up on that, and a lot of times the propagandists don't either.
But the message gets through nevertheless.

It's an entire process.

If repeater theory is true, and I have every reason to believe it is, the best target of political, religious, and economic messages is at the very networks spreading their own messages against their own citizens.

For example if you can engineer a message, where the only counter to it that they can come up with, itself causes the propagandists to become demoralized or question the narrative, they will get lazy in their job duties and accidentally leak data about ops and methodologies and narratives because they don't care as much anymore.
This feeds into further cycles of the process, making it more effective with time.

Their reactions fuel the entire process, kind of like immune system overreaction.
