Then you’ve never had insulin resistance and don’t know what a struggle that is for normal people.

Never counted calories only macros. Like how much protein, fat and carbs. If protein was #1 I was gonna be fine

[ - ] dassar 0 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 20:34:54 ago (+0/-0)

Yep, i basically discount additives/ GMO/ synthetic chemicals, flavors and colors - out it goes (actually it just doesnt go in the cart).

The only counting i do is for 'Protein' and how many sweet babes are walking around single.... (sensible chuckle).

This is why I buy store brands now.

It's literally like 1-3 ingredients for most products.

“Sugar”? Pretty sure the example cereal is made outside the us as the garbage here is loaded with corn syrups and other way worse shit than what is in the pic.

You can still get fat on steak an eggs if you eat too much.

[ - ] canbot 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 19:10:08 ago (+1/-0)

You won't eat too much because you will get everything you need from less food and won't be always hungery.

[ - ] Portmanure 2 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 22:22:22 ago (+2/-0)

Yes, that is true but if you don’t listen to your body and continue eating despite being satiated you will gain weight. However, it makes it so easy to eat the right amount of food because you are easily satisfied on smaller amounts and don’t get hungry between meals which leads to unnecessary snacking…

Sugar send the body into emergency storage mode because too much sugar in the blood is bad. Then hunger returns and it happens all over again. Sugar sucks.

Some fat is ok. Good God!! We need some fat in our diets, nota huge amount but enough sustain our activity level.

[ - ] Portmanure 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 22:26:24 ago (+1/-0)

All animal fat is good for your body, you can’t really eat too much and you can get just about every nutrient you need from animal fat to stay healthy and energetic. Lean meat is a crime! It’s eating past the amount you need and not burning off that extra “stored” energy that leads to a muffin top figure, lol.

Steak and Eggs might be the best combo on the planet.

[ - ] dassar 0 points 2 monthsFeb 26, 2025 18:12:46 ago (+0/-0)

With tomatoe, hash brown and slice of toast.

Just remember...

If you eat animals that are fed all those chemicals, then it makes no difference.

[ - ] xmasskull 3 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 21:49:03 ago (+3/-0)

Only "animals"? Sheet negro,check-out all the chem's & fert's farms use to grow your veg-chow! ding-A-ling!

Useless exaggerated complaint.

Ruminants can break down the omega 6 oils from corn and soybean.

Even without adhering to the cleanest carnivore diet, the results from switching to regular meat from Walmart are immeasurable.

Calories are a unit of energy.
They don't care if you believe in them.
They sure believe in you.
So unless you want to be a fat fuck, you're going to consume less of them than you expend at maintenance levels.

[ - ] Stonkmar 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 18:52:21 ago (+1/-0)

This is me. I count calories but I'm trying to gain weight. You know how much steak and eggs equals 2000 calories? I still haven't been able to hit it.

[ - ] Wahaha 2 points 2 monthsFeb 26, 2025 09:49:05 ago (+2/-0)

Don't go for weight, go for muscle mass.

[ - ] dassar 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 20:50:32 ago (+1/-0)*

You want to Gain weight, you say?

Focus on protein rather than calories per meal.
Protein is for adding/ keeping (muscle) mass.
Dependent on various factors incl age/ exercise regime, ability to gain / keep on weight - anywhere from 1.2 - 2 grams protein per pound (2.2 pound per kg) body weight, per day.

I typically aim for 40 or so grams protein per meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) plus protein shakes, but am looking to up as my gains have plateaued.

Generally, an 8 oz T-bone steak contains around 50 grams of protein, 34 grams of fat, and 506 calories.
The average egg contains about 6–7 grams of protein.

Muscle weighs more than fat.

[ - ] dassar 1 point 2 monthsFeb 26, 2025 00:58:29 ago (+1/-0)

Yep. Ideally, always a good idea to recomposition the body first if you are already a lard ass before focusing on gaining mass for the win.

[ - ] Stonkmar 0 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 21:19:40 ago (+0/-0)

Thanks for your comment. When you say 2g of protein per pound of body weight, do you mean current body weight or desired?

[ - ] dassar 0 points 2 monthsFeb 26, 2025 00:52:56 ago (+0/-0)*

Current body weight. Ie, an 80 kg person = around 160 grams protein per day at 2 g's per kg current body weight.

Some People may fget results with 1.2 g's per kg current body weight - others may need to go 2 g's or more per kg mark.

Protien shakes are your friend.

[ - ] Trope 0 points 2 monthsFeb 26, 2025 00:29:30 ago (+1/-1)
