I had a great day today!

Took the day off from work, which is hard to do on Saturdays because it’s a great day for sales and I do like working on Saturday. But, I had shit I needed to do at home. It was 67* in sunny Nor Cal and I spent the day disking the field, spraying the weeds, blowing the leaves and cleaning the chicken coop and run. I got some much needed sun on my White ass and I feel so much better than all of the days leading up to today.
I had been suffering from some serious four wall syndrome, working six days a week in a fucking building. My background is construction, so I’m not used to this indoor shit, even after 9 years. But, it’s mine and I make more money than I ever have, so all is good.
Just have to break away now and then.
Finna bake some salmon with peppers and onions. Might do a pasta alongside.

I woke up to a 10 degree NH morning. Stoked up the wood stove, brewed a pot of coffee and made scrambled eggs for the wife and I. Walked the dog, we went to lunch and went grocery shopping. Same thing I do every Saturday of my God-forsaken life. Oh well.. Thank you Lord for my job, house, health, wife and dog :)

69°Hi/RealFeel® 71° here on the coast. It was a great day. Didn't pick any hot peppers, but watered some bulbs that send up shoots with small trumpet flowers the hummingbirds love. They're getting close to the end, but I'm waiting until the seeds finish to take them down.

A sprinkle of popcorn clouds as the sun was going down, but still zero chemtrails.

Baked salmon covered with capers and garlic butter/cheese/herbs and lemon is delicious.

I got some much needed sun on my White ass

Acreage is handy in that way.

I'm completely done with this winter. Put a deer feeder in last fall and never got to hunt. Nephew killed a nice deer. Hunting is a family affair for us and it just never came together. Summer doesn't start for me until I can put a boat in the water. I'm ready. Not a complete loss tho. I've had a couple of nice dates with the widow. She wants to go real slow and I like that too. I like her.

Making more money means absolutely nothing if all you're doing is increasing your monthly costs. Your whole goal needs to be to get for a completely paid for life so you don't need to work a lick or worry about money ever again because you can self-sup supply your housing and your food and whatever else you need without having to work for anybody else ever again.


Don't wait until you're 75 years old to figure that out. Figure it out in your 30s while you can spend your time and your life actually doing things you want instead of thinking about working to make more money to pay for the stuff that you just bought because you made more money.

I was a construction employee in 87-88, after quitting my full time speed chess career to make some $. In a classic boomer move, then bought a business for a dollar and made piles of money before retiring/downsizing-via-divorcerape (at 39) a few years later. I've spent my life doing what I want, with "mostly positive" results.

*official rating was 1800 something, but I beat a 2300 several times.

That sounds DELISH! Have you tried whole wheat pasta? Kristen made some spaghetti a week or two ago with WW pasta. Couldn't tell the difference. Really good!

The pasta thing I have is a unique thing. It’s a rack of spaghetti all sealed up with the herbs and stuff to make a whole complete Italian pasta dish. I get them at a small Italian family owned spot in Saint Helena.
